Naš kuža je hodil k sosedi v vas, ga psička vabila je vsak dan naglas, ob mraku, ko putke pospravil je spat, je tačke si očistil in šel vasovat. A zjutraj ko delal se beli je dan, se vračal naš kuža domov je zaspan, naš kuža je priden in rada ga imam, čeprav poležava v senci ves dan.

Our doggy went to the neighbour's in the village, a little dog called him out loud every day; at dusk, once he'd put the hens to bed, he cleaned his paws and went off courting. But in the morning, as the day dawned white, our doggy would come home sleepy, our doggy is good and I love him so, even though he lazes in the shade all day. But there's one thing I quietly fear, whatever will become of our doggy — if one day he happens to become a daddy, then he'll go away, and I'll be sorry.
