Reusing the content

The songs here are traditional children's songs, credited as described in lyrics & credits. The original material written for this site — translations, origin essays, singing instructions and questions and answers — remains the property of Little Songbook. Quote it with attribution and a link; please do not republish it in bulk.

Accuracy

Considerable care goes into getting the words, translations and histories right, and sources are cited so that claims can be checked. Even so, traditional material varies from region to region and family to family, and scholarship is not always settled. Nothing here is offered as a definitive edition. If you spot an error, please tell us.
